Community Revitalization Coordinator

This is a full-time position located in Scranton, PA.

Position Summary: The Community Revitalization Coordinator helps to support UNC’s revitalization initiatives in Pine Brook and the Carbondale and South Side Farmers Markets. This role involves developing community programs, managing market operations, and promoting community engagement. The Coordinator reports to the Director of Community Revitalization, working 40 hours per week with occasional evening and Saturday hours.

Responsibilities:

  • Assist in managing the weekly operations of our Carbondale and Scranton Farmers Markets to ensure smooth and efficient market activities.
  • Organize events, market promotions, and outreach programs to attract customers and support local vendors at the Markets.
  • Assist in all aspects of comprehensive community plan management in the South Side and Pine Brook neighborhoods.
  • Create relationships with social service agencies, local businesses and other community stakeholders to promote programming in Pine Brook.
  • Provide support to implement revitalization tasks and promote community programs.
  • Build relationships between diverse neighborhood communities and identify emerging needs for innovative programming.
  • Utilize social media marketing and branding to promote community programs and market activities.
  • Assist with data collection, reporting, and administrative requirements of the Elm Street program.

Special Knowledge/Skills:

  • Experience in community outreach, organizing, or customer service.
  • Strong organization and time management habits.
  • Excellent communication (both verbally and in writing) and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to work independently and as a team member.
  • Computer literate with knowledge of Microsoft Office and other common applications.
  • Ability to use social media marketing and branding design skills effectively to promote programing; ability to use platforms such as Canva and Meta Business suites.

Education/Experience/Licensure:

  • Bachelor’s degree in social work, counseling, or related field preferred.
  • Bi-lingual (English/Spanish) preferred (not required – all applicants encouraged to apply).
  • Ability to gain necessary certifications for applicable programs.
